From a broken mother… to a mother who raised her voice

My name is Jessica Rodríguez Salinas, and for years, my life was divided into two distinct phases: before and after the system took my children away from me.

No one is prepared to endure such a devastating experience. Losing my children tore me apart. Yet, in the midst of that pain, I discovered something profoundly transformative: the strength of truth and the unbreakable love of a mother.

After an endless struggle, filled with silence, judgment, and pain, I discovered that what I needed most was to reclaim my voice. It was at that very moment that I realized I could not remain silent.

My story is not only personal; it is the story of countless families who, like mine, have endured the unimaginable. That is why I decided to tell it, not just for myself, but for all the voices still silenced.

This testimony took form in my book:

Innocents: the story of a family destroyed by the system.

Writing it was an act of healing, a painful yet necessary process that allowed me to reclaim some of the power that had been taken from me.

Today, my goal is to turn that suffering into strength and that experience into support for others. I aim to be a voice that inspires, provides hope, and reminds every mother and father that, despite the challenges, it is always possible to move forward.
